The Department of Physics at the 利记sbo has developed a strong, positive 教学 and research environment that is welcoming to all physics students. We are also committed to serving the community with outreach programs for schools and the general public.
利记sbo's physics major offers a robust introduction to the science of the physical world, from the basic structure of atoms and matter to the complex interactions of galaxies. Our program provides students with an opportunity to explore the fundamental nature of the physical universe. With an accomplished faculty and an individualized learning environment, the 利记sbo physics program is an excellent choice for students considering careers in research, 教学, 工程, and jobs in industry that demand a strong foundation in physical science.
We also offer research opportunities in the areas of Space Physics and Physics Education.

Students have the opportunity to conduct research with faculty on a variety of topics such as solar-terrestrial interactions, 空间天气, 还有物理教育. Students have received grants and fellowships to support their research. Students are encouraged to publish their research in national and international journals and attend conferences.

Summer 研究 Opportunities Program 在利记sbo
The Department of Physics at Utica university offers a summer research opportunity for high school students and undergraduate students during the summer 2024. The successful candidate will do research on Sun-Earth interactions with 教授. 哈Turkakin. This research opportunity is supported by National Science Foundation
(NSF).
一般要求
- Undergraduate applicants should be Physics majors or minors.
- High School applicants should be starting their junior or senior year of high school during the application period, and have completed at least one physics course with a minimum score of 85% or higher (students who took an AP Physics course will be preferable).

- Identify as one of the racial and ethnic groups: Black or African American, 西班牙裔或拉丁裔, 美国印第安人或阿拉斯加原住民, Native Hawaiin and other Pacific Islanders, or from any refugee groups in the greater Utica area.
