Physics is the science concerned with the nature of matter, 能源, and the interrelationships between them. Common cross-disciplines include engineering physics, 化学物理, 地球物理学, 生物物理学, 还有数学物理.

Engineering is the application of physics to real-world problems. Engineers are the people who design the automobiles, 的桥梁, 电脑芯片, 电子设备, 假肢, and all of the other technological wonders of our civilization.

B.A. in physics is intended for students who plan to teach or who wish to have a good scientific background for use in technology-related careers in business, 法律, 管理, 验光, 或医学. It provides a broader base of general science and allows for more course electives in other disciplines than the B.S. 程序.

的 3 - 2 transfer option 在工程 provides the basic courses typically found in the first years of engineering 程序s. Students have the advantages of small classes and close contact with the faculty as they master their foundation courses in science and mathematics at 利记sbo, 以及核心课程, 总共至少96个小时. 完成本课程后, students transfer to an engineering school where they take junior-level engineering courses.
